Drupal hook: hook_init

0
0

Drupal executes code with hooking into modules and evaluates the code within the hook.
One of such hooks is hook_init(). It gets executed on every page loads. This hook is useful when, we need some functionality, code or script get executed on every page loads. For example, instead of altering the page.tpl.php, we can include any js or css files on a page by loading them in hook_init. This way, the module can be used widely and need not to change any files.

Developers who develop custom modules, can use this hook for loading css or js file for every page, and thus making the module truly plugable in Drupal.

Drupal Developer has taken a pledge to help Drupal developers in module customization. And continuing the process, we have reached to the point where we would like to invite Drupal Developers to participate in deciding how the CodeBook should be.

What has Developer's Network planed so far for CodeBook implementation?

The Developer's Network has planed the CodeBook implementation as follows:

1) Developer creates a codelet (code snippet) by creating a node called codelet.
2) While adding the codelet, the Developer choose in which CodeBook this codelet should be categorised.
3) After the node has been created the codelet is converted to .swf file and its added to respective CodeBook.
